LEGO JEWELRY HOLDER

When I recently moved back home, I realized that I had the room to set up a jewelry holder, replacing the Ziploc bag I had previously been using to store my earrings and necklaces. I figured that I could probably just make one, so I took to Pinterest as one does for inspiration. Then, I recalled the giant box of jumbled Legos from my childhood that lives under my brother’s bed.

Without a real plan in mind for the design, I got to building. I had my collection of jewelry with me, so I could customize the structure to exactly what I needed. I sifted through the unorganized box for hours, desperate to find the desired pieces. (I had to suppress my urge to organize the thousands of Lego pieces there in that moment — not the priority right now!) I adapted, stabilized, and tinkered with the design until it came together, and now I have a one-of-a-kind, colorful stand to display my jewelry. And it was fun to make? A win-win, one could say.
